Heavy D and the Chunkapiller

The big boys went to the doctor today to get some shots and to get checked out by their doctor. The Big D weighed in at a crushing 13 lbs. 12 ozs and 23 1/2 inches long. Mister Hayden weighed in at 13 lbs 9 ozs and was 24 1/2 inches long. Both boys are growing well and have moved into the bottom 25% of weight for their age. That was a big jump from the bottom 5%. Donovan is still in the bottom 10% for his length.

We both went to the doctor with the boys, because today was "Shot Day"! The boys will probably enjoy a different type of Shot Day when they go to college or join the military some day, but for now this was the "unfun from the start kind of Shot Day!"

Normally, the doctor's office puts the boys on a lethal injection-type table with straps in order to administer shots. I guess someone "complained" to the health department, so now the parent(s) get to hold the baby down. I guess this is some pretty potent stuff that they administer, and the boys are automatically banned from playing baseball for the next six months. That said, I left before the shots were administered, but there is a nasty rumor floating around that both Donovan and Hayden voiced their displeasure to the entire Doctor's office. They both got some heavy doses of tylenol tonight, so hopefully they feel better in the morning. Wish them well.
