Merry Christmas

We hope all of our friends and family have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Donovan and Hayden have had an exciting Christmas Eve. Their mom drove them over the river and through the woods to get to their Grandma and Granpa's house for Christmas Eve. This included a spin out on glare ice which landed us in the ditch. Some good natured souls helped pull our van out. You could not walk on the road because it was so slick where we went in. Everyone is ok. Donovan and Hayden decide to wake up a collective 6 times last night in appreciation for their mom's driving. We hadn't experienced that in a few months and we did not miss it one bit.

We are looking forward to 2008 and all the big things it will bring including:

(1) crawling;
(2) walking;
(3) smack talking;
(4) learning to vacuum, do the dishes, mow the lawn, pull weeds and rake;
(5) the boys first birthday which is scheduled for May 9, 2008 (subject to change based on acceptance of a different calendar).

Best to you all,
Kyle the Dad, Melissa the Boss, Hayden and Donovan, and Hellhound, Mucifer and Heretic.

Oh yeah,

Donovan chews on his toes and Hayden can count to 63.

Accomplishments

The Boys have been progressing well. They eat two meals a day in their high chairs and they are really interactive. This afternoon, I left the family room to put dinner in the oven. The boys were on their play mats underneath their hanging toys. One minute later, I came back and Hayden was off the mat, rolled onto his belly and facing the opposite direction. Over the last five minutes, he has moved backwards by about two feet. Now Donovan is off of his mat and his belly moving away from the mat.

In order delay putting up gates, Melissa and I plan to attach ten pound weights to the boys to keep them from straying to far. We also consider putting a one foot layer of sand in the family room since it would be difficult for them to maneuver in sand. Any other containment ideas would be appreciated.

Alright, they are looking at me right now like I need to give them something to do.

Busy Weekend

Our stove died so we bought a sweet new stainless steel Bosch stove at the Sears Outlet Center for a decent price. Grandpa Dan and I installed it on Saturday and left the old one in our driveway for whoever wants it.

The boys had no real accomplishments this week other than getting cuter. Otherwise, they played in their new activity center from Grandma Sue and Grandpa Dan, and they went to Mo's Irish Pub for dinner. The last time they were at Mo's was on St. Patrick's Day in Melissa's belly.

Hailey had a nice weekend.

It snowed a lot.

Oh yeah, Melissa graduated, so no more college house party keggers at our house anymore. Sorry all.

Graduatin'

Melissa graduated today with her Bacherlor's degree in Business from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She still has a few projects and exams to finish by Wednesday, but for now the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has entrusted her with a degree.

I am really proud of her. Melissa went back to college (after her hiatus to work while I was in law school). She took a full 18 credit load last spring while being 4 to 8 months pregnant with twins during the semester. It was made even tougher, because the boys were born right before her finals started, so she basically had to complete all of her finals and terms papers for Spring Semester during this Fall semester. That was not easy, since she was taking credits this semester and also taking care of baby boys.

Nice job Melissa.

The Boys meet the Gravedigger

Hayden and Donovan met former Green Bay Packer #93 Gilbert Brown at the mall on Saturday! They got his autograph and Mr. Brown assigned a new nickname for Mr. Donovan! Gilbert, who is a large man, was signing a picture to the boys. He was attempting to write

“To Tubby and Chunkapiller, Hugs & Kisses, The Gravedigger,”

but instead he wrote

“To Tubby and Chunka, Best Wishes & God Bless, Gilbert Brown”

Mr. Brown has spoken, and Chunka it is!!!

Out-takes from the 2007 Christmas Photo Shoot!

Hayden's dolphin-flop is too fast for the camera.

This sucks! Do we have to do this?

Get off of me! Mom, He's touching me!!!

Like two Reindeer in headlights!!!!!

F'UP

We have had a little problem with late night F'Up recently which occurs between one to four times a night. Hayden has been the most likely culprit of being F'Up. F'Up is a condition where one or both of the boys are wide awake and wanting to play at a time when we are trying to sleep. If any one knows how to deal with virulent cases of F'Up, then please let us know. If anyone doesn't know what F'Up is, then please let us know. Otherwise, use your imagination.

To all our friends and family

Happy Thanksgiving to you and to yours!

This has been a wonderful year for us with Hayden (Tubby) and Donovan (DonoMAN, Chunkapiller) joining our family, and with the other wonderful additions to both of our families. This has also been an exciting year for many of our friends who are "baking" new buddies for Hayden and Donovan, and for all of the good things for the rest of our friends including marriages, new jobs, new homes, and the sort (Now if only someone would get a really nice speedboat).

Thanksgiving is about giving thanks, and we have a lot to be thankful for, so from us to you, Thank You for all of your support, gifts, time, and wishes. Go Pack Go!

(Please note, we are not thankful for S%$&storms, the S7, learning "Wiener Down" the bad way, tight shopping aisles and clothing aisles, "double trouble" comments, and lack o' sleep.)

Violently ill

Hayden and Donovan were violently ill last night. It started with a little bit of brown-looking, sweet potato-smelling gunk foaming out of their mouths. We tried to scoop it away as it kept foaming out, but it became futile--it just kept coming out. They are both ok this morning, but we are really worried it might happen again . . . perhaps with a green-colored, green bean-smelling gunk.

Also, we had another S%$^storm disaster this morning. Without any warning, Osama Bin Hayden struck again. All I can report right now is the following:

(1) the little Pampers #3 diaper did all it could;
(2) the outfit little Hayden was wearing is soaking in bleach in the basement sink;
(3) the rug had to be cleaned;
(4) a half-roll of Bounty was used as part of the environmental hazard clean up effort;
(5) Hayden needed a sponge bath; and
(6) after the stink bomb was cleaned up, the disposal container had to be taken outside.
