Congratulations to the New York Giants and Melissa

First, thank you to the Green Bay Packers for the unexpected and great season. Second, congratulations to the New York Giants, Tom Coughlin, and Lawrence Tynes. The New York Giants played the better game and they deserved to win. You could tell both teams were exhausted--especially from the cold--and the Pack Defense looked more worn down at the beginning of the fourth quarter. New York controlled possession most of the game, and that hurt really bad. The Packer offense looked slow and lack of a legitimate running game killed the Pack. Also, play calling was poor. The first two plays were good, but it went downhill real quick.

Donovan and Hayden went to bed at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Now I have to break it to them that the Pack lost tomorrow morning or if they wake up during the middle of the night, I'll do it then, but they may be too upset and they may not go back to bed.

The boys will post their Superbowl pick before the big game. Originally, they would have picked the Pack, but I think they will lean toward the Giants in a big upset over the New England Cheaters. New York's defense is extremely tough and they are playing really well right now--better than I thought they would play in this game. Eli Manning looks like the Good Rex Grossman so maybe Eli will come back to reality in the big game.

Now what about the Pack? They need to shore up their rushing game at the offensive line level. Additionally, the offensive line needs to be able to block for a screen play and they have looked feable at it this year. They also need depth at cornerback and defensive end. The D-line really had difficulty getting a push over the last two months, and Eli Manning had too much time to make a decision. Now the ultimate question: will Brett retire? He may, but he shouldn't. But the Pack needs to decide what it will do with A-Rodgers, and I would think re-signing him this off season would be a good idea as well as re-signing Bigby (both to a modest contract). Otherwise, trade Rodgers for a second or third and late round pick (but there is no better QB in the draft so maybe just keep him).

Craig, thanks for not calling with the harassing post-loss phone call, like you may have received when Atlanta kicked the game-winning field goal over the Queens in 1999.

Good luck to the Giants. Everyone has not given them a chance and everyone was wrong. Everyone will probably be wrong again.

Oh yeah, Melissa won the quiz. She got all of the questions correct, but she got a zero on the essay question. The correct answer would have been a 50 plus word diatribe on the Boys' inability to do housework and their uncanny ability to create S3s - S7s. Thanks to all who entered.

When did this cute blog about our babies turn into a blog about football? Although D&H do tolerate being dressed in GB outfits (although not taped to them) they are like their mom and would rather nap than watch football.
